    CBS Sports Network features a college basketball tripleheader on Saturday, Feb. 25, highlighted by an Atlantic 10 matchup featuring UMass and Dayton (6:00 PM, ET). Roger Twibell and Steve Lappas call the action at University of Dayton Arena in Dayton, Ohio, where the Minutemen, tied for third-place in the conference, look to stay in contention for an NCAA Tournament bid.

    A primetime Conference USA matchup between UTEP and UCF follows (8:00 PM, ET) at UCF Arena in Orlando, Fla. Dave Ryan and Pete Gillen handle the call as UCF tries to bounce back from a tough conference loss at Rice and remain in the NCAA Tournament conversation.

    No one is playing better basketball right now than Notre Dame. Notre Dame beat Marquette and handed Syracuse their only loss of the year. I think they’re a Top-15 team. 

    (ON MID MAJORS IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT)
    Creighton     is not in yet, but if they get in, they are tough team to scout and tough to match up with. They have a complex offense that can score in a lot of different ways. And they have forward Doug McDermott on the squad.

    (ON BIG 12 CONFERENCE)
    The Big 12 deserves five teams. You have the big three in Kansas, Baylor and Missouri. Then Kansas State and Iowa State definitely deserve to be in there, they have solid resumes. And once Iowa State gets in, watch out for them.

    (ON MISSOURI)
    I look forward to seeing them in the Tournament and think they are going to make a run.  as they’ll be playing teams who aren’t familiar with their style of play. They are so hard to prepare for and scout because of their versatility.

    Rhode Island-Xavier and Tulsa-UTEP Meet in Conference Matchups

    College basketball action returns to CBS Sports Network on Wednesday, Feb. 8 with a doubleheader featuring two teams battling for first place in their respective conferences. The action tips-off as Rhode Island visits Xavier (7:00 PM, ET). The Musketeers are tied for second place in a tight race atop the Atlantic 10. Roger Twibell and Steve Lappas call the action at Cintas Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

  • PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDERS’ BALTIMORE INVITATIONAL AIRS SATURDAY, FEB. 4 ON CBS SPORTS NETWORK

    Professional Bull Riders (PBR) returns to CBS Sports Network on Saturday, Feb. 4 (10:00 PM, ET) with the Baltimore Invitational at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Md. Craig Hummer and PBR Ring of Honor member J.W. Hart announce, with Leah Garcia reporting from dirt level.

    Valdiron de Oliveira, currently ranked first in the PBR Built Ford Tough Series standings, won the event in 2010, the last time PBR stopped in Baltimore.

  • CBS SPORTS NETWORK SIGNS MULTI-YEAR DEAL WITH NATIONAL COLLEGIATE HOCKEY CONFERENCE

    Network to be Exclusive National Television Partner for New Hockey Conference
    Featuring Eight of the Nation’s Top College Hockey Teams

    CBS Sports Network has agreed to a multi-year agreement with the new National Collegiate Hockey Conference, beginning in the 2013-2014 season.  CBS Sports Network will be the exclusive national television partner for the conference, which will feature eight of the nation’s top college hockey programs.  The announcement was made today by Dan Weinberg, Senior Vice President, Programming, CBS Sports Network, and Jim Scherr, Commissioner of the National.

    The agreement calls for a minimum of 18 conference games, including the National’s semifinal and championship contests. Currently six teams that will be in the new conference are ranked in the USCHO.com Top 20 poll. 

    “With top teams and passionate fan bases, the National is poised to be an elite college hockey conference, and we’re thrilled to be the national television partner,” said Weinberg.  “College hockey has been a staple of our programming and we’re pleased to expand our coverage and further serve fans with compelling and competitive conference action.” 

    “We are delighted to be associated with the preeminent national broadcaster of college hockey,” said Scherr.  “It is our goal to be the premier single-sport conference in intercollegiate athletics and the unmatched exposure and production quality that will be provided by CBS Sports Network will contribute significantly to realizing that vision.”

    Currently, CBS Sports Network’s comprehensive college hockey coverage includes action from Hockey East, ECAC, CCHA, WCHA and Atlantic Hockey.
